Introducing...The Signpost : A Weekly Mailing 📬


    1. Welcome to The Signpost! 

  1. A weekly mailing that is intended to be an open reminder, a direction of thought, to the things we are to think on, to ponder, and to focus.

    1. a sign giving information such as the direction and distance to a nearby town, typically found at a crossroads.
      • something that acts as guidance or to an unclear or complicated issue.


    "Think on These" --- Logizomai - a Greek word that means to consider, weigh, calculate, deliberate inward

    These "things" are taken from Philippians 4:4-9

    Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

    Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9

  3. In this introductory post, let's lo0k at each of the words mentioned in the above passage and a closer look into their meanings.

    true - truthful, correct, genuine, reliable, real, loyal, faithful, trustworthy

    noble - brave, courageous, gallant, honorable, impressive, grand

    right - suitable, appropriate, fitting, desirable, sensible, virtuous

    pure - clean, clear, fresh, unpolluted, wholesome, moral, blameless, complete, flawless, genuine

    admirable - approve of, compliment, praise, respect, think highly of, appreciate, applaud, esteem

    excellent - very good, fine, superb, outstanding, marvelous, distinguished

    lovely - beautiful, charming, delightful, pleasant, nice, pleasing

    praiseworthy - admire, worship, glorify, honor, exalt, applaud, pay tribute

So, to sum it up...each week in your inbox (if you are subscribed) I will send you a sign "post" 📬 that will give you something to "think on". 

It may sound pretty simple, but maybe it is time for us to return to simplicity instead of dwelling on everything that is opposite. Simplicity is what our minds need and what our souls long for.
