The Simple Woman's Daybook {January Edition}

For Today

Looking out my window... clouds and some freezing rain moving in.

I am thinking... another Christmas has come and gone; sweeping the last bits from the mantel and freshening things up.

I am thankful... it has warmed a bit and is not so terribly frigid

One of my favorite things... stopping by the fabric shop for a few new pretties.

I am wearing... several layers, topped with something nice and wooly

I am creating... new areas and fresh corners in my studio

I am watching... the ending of another season of Call The Midwife and looking forward to the new one.

I am reading...

I am listening to... my newest cd... a cut from it here

I am hoping... sometime you visit me on Instagram under simplewomansdaybook

I am learning... some sweet things with my new sewing machine

In the kitchen... trying some new soups

"Time will not wait. It cannot be borrowed. You cannot buy time. It ruthlessly hastens by without afterthought. We can either find the most priority investments or we can squander our resources; time will confiscate every minute we leave idle."

  2. Enjoyed your Daybook very much! I love the putting away of all the Christmas stuff and setting things back to normal in my house. I know lots of folks leave it all out until New Year's, but once it's over, I don't want to look at it anymore :) By the new year, I'm ready for a fresh start. Your sewing goodies look like you've got some fun projects coming up. Love your quote about time. So true. Looks like I'm going to have to try essential oils. I hear they can work magic :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts and photos. Happy New Year, Peggy!!

  3. I'm watching the same season of Call the Midwife and reading the book! Love them both!
What soups do you try? In Hungary people like eating soups, especially in winter.

    1. Hello Smily, I want to make a good, hearty vegetable soup. I love a cheddar broccoli and potato and chicken corn soup.

  4. There's nothing like finding treasures at the fabric store! And I love new magazines. "Breathe" has become one of my favorite ways to treat myself. I buy it with the intention of passing it on so others can enjoy it . . . but so far, I've kept them all!

    1. Yes, Karen I always pass my magazines to others and then to the library. Has the magazine, Breathe been out long? I see it is from the UK. They always have some cool ones.
