The Simple Woman's Daybook {August Edition}

For Today

Good Morning!

Looking out my window... misty, cozy kind of Monday

I am thinking... ahead to next week...seven l-o-n-g days with this theme in mind. My latest papercut journal page and I am so excited to begin packing!

I am thankful... that I have a God who sees and makes that tangible in my life

One of my favorite things... hearing the little bees who work while I gather from the garden. I love their company each morning!

I am wearing... worn in jeans, soft navy tee and barefeet

I am creating... my packing list for the beach

I am watching... the second season of Chesapeake Shores

I am reading... all manner of good books. I have been blessed to be on several book launch teams, so I want to share about those, as well as some other lovely books. If you "like" my facebook page forgive the second round of sharing. I will have a few more in next month's daybook.

Under each picture I have included a link where you can find more information

I have not read any of Lysa's books before, but thought I would give this one a try. The study and video series begins on August 20th. I just received the study guide that goes along with this book.

This book is by Bonnie Gray. I first "met" Bonnie in her book, Finding Spiritual Whitespace. Bonnie's writing style gives you plenty of time to pause and reflect.

This book is by Sara Hagerty. I never heard of this gal before, but I will stay on her book-writing heels for sure! I am only part of the way in, but this is life-changer. There are some really cool gifts if you purchase before August 29th. The print of the front cover is priceless to me.

I found Ruth through her lovely instagram page last year and have been following her ever since. My first impression was this women knows how to love really well...she loves her Lord, her husband and her six sons with her entire heart. This book is a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness through the ever-changing seasons, filled with beautiful artwork and reflective devotions pointing you to God’s grace and truth. There is also a sweet journal that I received along with the book!

*Be sure to check back here in September for a chance to receive a copy of this lovely hard-cover book as a gift from me!

I am listening to... one of these with my lunch most days! I consider Beth and Priscilla as my mentors in Christ!

In the garden...

 {I will miss the daily trek to my garden once it is over}

 {not one worm hole in the entire row hold this year}

 {nature in beautiful furl}

                                                                        {precious in tandem}

I am hoping... that summer slows down a bit

I am learning... to never let my guard down and always stay the watch for those God moments

In the kitchen... green, red, and yellow

A moment from my day... slipping into my daughter's room to open a window and I see this and loved the moment enough to share with you. I love the way she thinks!

  1. So many garden goodies! I really miss having my big garden.

  2. Enjoyed your Daybook, as I always do! thanks for hosting, and enjoy the rest of your summer.

    1. Late getting to my comments this month...but, thank you so much Deb! I hope you had a lovely one as well.

  3. Beautiful post this month, I love how fruitful your garden has been such a simple joy in life. I'm really keen to read some of those books esp the last one you features happy August x

    1. Hello Hannah! Love your name as you share it with my daughter :-)

  4. It's always such a pleasure reading your monthly reflection. Your life is full with such beautiful moments. Looks like your garden is quite bountiful. I can see why you'll miss going out to it when it stops producing. The picture of the sunflowers with the bees on them is stunning!

    1. I so appreciate your comment. Thank you!

  5. You have such a clean desk! I wish I could keep my desk looking that nice!

    Unfortunately, garden season for me has already ended. I'm not sure if that's because I'm a terrible gardener (probably) or not. The fruit and veggies we got this year were really good, though. I always look forward to getting fresh fruit and veggies each summer! :)

    With Love,

    1. Ha! Mandy...it has it's moments of disarray for sure! Yes, sometimes things grow well and sometimes not. I think we just need to take it in stride. :-)

  6. It's already the end of the month, so I'm squeaking into the August edition of the Daybook. I'll be back to visit other posts! Bren xox

  7. Hello Peggy,
    It's been awhile since I linked up. Hope all is well with you. I think I've been reading your blog since at least 2005 or 2006. I still have a flannel apron your daughter sewed back in the day! It's tattered, but it's a memory from my children's childhood, so I have kept it and still wear it.

    Be blessed!
