The Simple Woman's Daybook {April Edition}

For Today

Looking out my window... blue skies, lovely sunshine and how welcome is that sweetness seen amongst shadows

I am thinking... how much I enjoy taking part in this during April

I am thankful... for spring

One of my favorite things... pussy willows

I am wearing... a pair of jeans that I could not wear in January, navy cami, blue tunic-style sweater and gray ankle boots

I am creating  created... my small offerings for the Joy Exchange (see March Daybook) and she loved them

I am watching... my little bowl fill up with essential oils...slowly, but surely. Placing my diffuser order this week, excited!

I am reading... over a few library bookstore finds I picked up the other day. For a few dollars you can buy used books...gotta love that. I want to use a picture or two from Andrew Wyeth's book to put behind frame.

I am listening to... this  'cause I just bought his cd

In the garden...
nothing just yet as it is not quite time, but soon for peas and onion sets. I was SO happy to find good quality seed packs locally. The mushroom soil gets delivered today!

I am hoping... to find the idea for my next paper cut collage in this stacks of torn pages. Just finished Eat Pray Love (ever so late), and Goddesses Never Age which I took so many notes from

I am learning... setting a routine is key and color never hurts either

In the kitchen... plates of roasted cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and sauteed cabbage with a splash of vinegar

"Do you wish you could have a few moments to practice self-acceptance, to say hello to the aspects of yourself that are homely, repellent, catty, judgmental, lewd, lonely, or sacred and to be with them, even hug them, or at least acknowledge their existence?"

The Woman's Retreat Book

I am only in a few chapters of Jen's book, but is is quickly becoming one I should have taken off my shelf a few years ago. May will mark my yearly retreat in the mountains, so this book's timing could not be better

A moment from my day... this sweet little order coming in the mail. The first time my currency ever had to be changed
