There was food for my spirit with prayer, early meditation (the Lord Jesus kind) and devotional reading in the morning, there was food for my body in the afternoon with lots of mowing, weeding and sweating (which I enjoy) and then there was food for my mind which came late day served as a 5-course meal which included lots of laughter, tears and plenty of good chatter between my mother and sister and I without even 1 of the 11 grand-children breaking up any rhythm of nurturing that was taking place...long overdue, gut spilling, soul sharing and much talk of changing, life, stages, directions, women ponderings, and all without an ounce of judgment from our mother, but rather she listened hard to me with graceful wisdom through her eyes of what might need done to bring about filling voids, heart burdens and future holdings...coming home to a much needed surprise phone call from an online friend (thank you sweetie!) who sensed something was just "off" with her friend, Peggy and cared enough to ask, what a cold drink on a hot day that was in a world of women often too busy to even give another woman's needs even a second thought.
So, I was tipping my head back all day drinking in and sitting still for some nourishment in what was offered to me, filled again and again and finally with food for my soul, this mother and her daughter painting their toenails together in the brightest pink I could find and letting the fan cool our just showered bodies off as our minty soap and lavendar vanilla lotioned scented bodies gave way to giggles, hugs, kisses and our plans to steal away to Panera Bread (you know by now where I love to go with my girls to eat on our days out)!
While the food will be so good, it could never fill me the way I ate yesterday. That kind of eating sticks with you a long time...

Eating Well
I had one of those exhaustingly wonderful days yesterday...so full of good food...it took me a while even so very tired last night to get to sleep, as I wanted to chew well and digest every last morsel!

Peggy, thank you for sharing that... it was beautiful...we should all be so blessed to be filled to the hilt like that each day!
Thank you for sharing this day with me. I need to learn to fill up on that kind of food more than the kind that adds to my waist! lol
I just loved the photo in this post. It is so peaceful.
Isn't it amazing how we can become good friends with people online and come to care for them?
I just recently actually wrote a real letter to Jewels because she hasn't posted in so long.
As we are all one in the Body of Christ, we have a connection through time and space. :)
I am so happy to read of the wonderful time you have shared with your family and moreover to see that you are feeling a bit brighter :)
Blessings to you and YAY for bright pink polish!!!!!!!!!
Simply beautiful...just like you.
Peggy, such a beautiful post. I've been missing these posts of yours. You know, i think it was 5 years ago when i first read you and joined one of your groups. Well it opened my eyes. I'm sure now it was the Lord to let me 'meet' you. My life changed so much since then.
Thank you dear !
Flavia
Thank you for, once again, illustrating that simple things are what truly make this life that the Lord has given us. It is not the hussle and bustle of going from one activity to another, but the everyday simplicities that feed our soul and help us grow closer to our awesome Lord and those He places in our lives. Your blog is one of the few places I can go to for this kind of needed encouragement and example!

Hello dearest friends and supporters of the simple woman blog! PLEASE know that I read each and every one of your kind messages, but most often have little time to answer questions left in comment. However, if you have a question pressing on your heart or something you would just like to ask my opinion/etc., you are more than welcome to email me and I will answer you. My email address is thesimplewoman@gmail.com
(Please Note: I do not answer any grumbles which you may have in any format, but just chalk it up to you having a bad day. Get some sleep and things will look better in the morning. ;-)
Much love,
